What is the best webcam to use with the Mac Mini?
I just upgraded my 2010 Mac Mini to Mountain Lion and my current webcam (Logitech C310) no longer works. I was hoping to buy a better one anyway. Suggestions?

Hmmm, quite curious it no longer works, what are the Symptoms or clues?
The video works fine in all applications but the mic does not pick up sound in any of the applications (photobooth, facetime, skype, or dictation. ) I should add the mic stopped working when I was using Lion, and naturally the problem carried over to Mountain Lion. I have read a lot of forums that mention having problems with this model, and logitech has no drivers for 10.8. I would like to just upgrade to a nicer webcam instead of always using iPhone for Facetime calls.
I've already done that. Thanks. My question was not about how to fix it but which one to buy next.
from what i've heard the logitech c920 is the best 1080p webcam for mac, even though the company technically says it doesnt support mac. there are plenty of youtube videos of mac users using the c920. they recommend buying app called "webcam settings" in the app store to use the webcam

Thanks I'll look into it.
I'll have to look into that one! Thank you.
I agree with edlucas about both the Logitech C920 and the app “WebCam Settings.” Logitech hardware is excellent but not their Mac software. Don’t even bother with it. “CamTwist” is another helpful app (Google for it - it’s free). I’m runnng three Logitec webcams simultaneously (C920, C910, C615) on a 2009 Mac Mini using the CamTwist/WebCam Settings pair of apps.
I just posted about this on the Logitech forums:

I use the Logiitech c920 and have only good things to say about it. It is a bit pricey, but the 1080p HD is so crisp you actually have to groom before vidchatting with anyone (granted, this could be seen as a drawback). The built-in microphone is ace.
Okay, I just bought the Logitech C920 at Best Buy becuase I wanted to get a better resolution when Skyping with my girlfriend that is visiting in New York for 5 weeks. I bought the app Webcam Settings too, not sure if I had to do this or not. The video quality is still not that good on my end, but I'm not sure what it looks like on the other end, but the audio wasn't as good as just using my MacBook Pro with the built in camera. I think I'm going to have her try getting a c920 and see if that helps. Any recommendations on getting better skyping with the use of the c920, shouldn't this webcam help video quality?
not sure why you dont like the video quality. I've been very pleased. Why dont you try using Facetime instead of skype
I find that the 16 megapixel Oker web Cam works very well indeed, it has a twist and focus manual lens just twist the lens rim, and it focuses to you. A lot of megapixels and clear enough to facetime nicely.
Webcam OKER (177) Silver/Black

You really can't beat the Logitech C920 when it comes to sound and quality. As everyone here, including myself, can attest it is by far the best.
I use an H390 headset and switch to THAT Mic with my C920. I have yet to see a webcam with the picture quality of the C920 (It's 1080p on FaceTime - 720p on Skype), but you have to be right up in front of it for the mics to be really clear. They pick up a lot of background noise otherwise. I tried adjusting the volume in Flash, but it didn't help. It just reduced my voice at the same time as the noise. I also have a lavalier mic that's got some killer noise canceling, but I don't use it unless I'm video conferencing (the headset looks unprofessional).
