Well chaps it has been a fortnight of bitter disapointment. After much huffing and puffing the manager at the store from were I bought the computer said he would do something about sorting out the graphics card problem! H ewas going to take on the cause and effect a change in this practice at corporate level.
A flurry of emails and hey presto I got a phone call from from Apple Corporate no less to say that they would be sending out a card to the Apple dealer and that I could collect it there in a couple of days and I was given a choice and even prices that included VAT, Fantastic!
Not only that great news but that I could now tell all of my mates, you whinging lot, that down at my Apple store there were cards for all....
Not so fast Johnny!! mmmm - a rather confusing email from the man at local Apple store saying that he thinks he should be honest with me - two weeks later I have stopped holding my breath - it is I understand a little more complicated then that - what a pity that honesty didn't kick in when I bought the machine in the first place - the plastic would have stayed right where it was.
This my new friend upstairs has told me is a violation of my rights as a consumer, how offensive it is to talk like this, why can't Apple just be really honest and tell me (and all of us) why and how, I really like all of my Apple Macs and I have got quite a number right from the Mac Plus to a Quad G5 - over the years Apple have treated me badly and incredibly well too - I just feel this is the most arrogant indifference I have ever encountered, and what makes matters really even more unbearable is the way the decision maker in all of this hides behind his local store manager - This is all motivating me in a quite negative manner its time to get the attention of Mr Jobs.
