ipod touch

Hi, iv just purchased from a friend a 2nd hand ipod touch for my daughter. Iv already got an itunes account on my laptop for my iphone is it possible to have 2 account without them baing linked if so how? Also the ipod has music on it my daughter wants to keep is this possible? Also how do i create a new id for the ipod as it is linked to my friends. Many thanks
