ITunes froze while I was restoring my iPod Touch. Now it has no software!

My iPod (2G) was working fine, but I decided to “factory reset” it. As you might know, iTunes completely removes the device’s files AND software, before downloading and installing it anew. Just after my iPod’s software was successfully removed, iTunes froze! Now there's a stagnant progress bar (which seems to mark something like 0%) below the Apple logo in the screen of my iPod, which is constantly lit. My computer doesn't recognise it anymore, nor does iTunes, of course. I tried connecting it to different USB ports, but nothing seems to work. Pressing home and menu simultaneously also doesn’t make any effect. I will wait until the battery is completely drained, and I’ll try to plug it again to a power source, but I’m afraid it won’t fix the problem, for my iPod has no software, seemingly.

You are on the right track

Try:

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
