connecting macbook pro to HP Envy 110

I have been trying to link my macbook to HP Envy 110 for weeks now. Initially i managed it by uding the IP address as the printer never appeared in the set-up wizard. However, the next time I tried it, the IP address had changed on the printer but the macbook did not recognise it. Now i can't even get it to print, even if i change the IP address every time.

If i add printer under system preferences, my only option is to enter the IP address from the printer as none are listed. Even if I do this it says unable to verify your printer on your network, do you want to create printer anyway. I i say yes, it creates a printer in the list but it doesn't allow me to print for it. it always says printer in use when i put somehting in the print queue.

Can anyone help please.

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)
