I just tried using Any Video Recorder to convert a .ts video file to quicktime for watching on my mac. After running 4 hours it converted 14 seconds of video. That means it will take 42 days to encode my 1 hour TV show. Something is definately wrong. Any ideas?

What version OS?

You should be able to play it in QuickTime.

Thanks. My Mac Mini is running OS version 10.10.1. The .TS file does play in QuickTime, however the audio has a severe echo and gets progressively further out of sync with the video. After a few minutes, the audio is about five seconds out of sync and progressively getting worse. It's unwatchable.

If you have audio sync problems it's hard to see how a third party converter will help. What was the source of the transport streams?

The .ts file was created by using Hauppage WinTV v7 on my Windows 7 PC. Their software captures the signal received from their WinTV-HVR 950Q connected to a simple antenna and plugged into a USB port on my PC. The .ts file plays perfectly on my PC and while the conversion of the third party app was unworkably slow, the resulting audio was perfect… At least for the 14 seconds that were converted.

I don't have any experience with Any Video and what it does with audio _ much less what it was doing for a 4 hour process. You could run it through MPEG Streamclip and change the sampling rate,

Forgot to add, if you just want to play it and don't need to use it in FCP, try VLC.
