Purchased a Lexicon Lambda USB mic pre/interface today and the MBP really doesn't like it. I can get it to recognize it but there is a BAD digital buzz that almost pegs the input levels at the clip (red). Sounds nasty and it doesn't matter if there is a mic plugged in or not.
Not a cable problem as I have tried replacing all....not a 60hz humm either.
Does this mic work with core audio, or does it need a driver to operate? Is there a software to control it?
The driver/software might not be Universal. I have this problem with the Samson USB mic - it records through core audio, so this works fine, but I can't use the control software.
I have an Omega, and it is CoreAudio, no drivers or software. I bet you have other things on your USB buss, no? Do you have a hub with other goodies on it? I don't have an Intel mac, but on my powerbook, I had to put the Omega on it's own usb buss, and my hub with all my other junk on the other. Just a thought.
