slow imac

what's the memory? could be some programs running in the background that could be an issue also. iTunes & my App Store App run somewhat slow get Onyx. It's a GREAT Utilities App.

I have bought an iMac a month ago. I have your same problem before updates.

Which iMac did ya Buy? How much Memory? ever thought about adding More memory it's not exspensive to Do so..just Go to Cruical.com & see what you can Get. I've got an iMac myself with 4GB stock & bought two 4GB Sticks from Amazon for less than $50.

I think you're wrong because I bought iMac with 8 GB ram and apple added 8 GB now I have 16 GB. This is a software problem, not an hardware one.

If your iMac is slow, your iMac can take up to 6 GBs of RAM max..

How full is your Mac's hard drive? If there is less than 20 GBs left on your internal. it's time to consider archiving and deleting data off of the drive

Do you run any antivirus software on your Mac? Antivirus software can slow down the normal operation of OS X.

Do you run any "crapware" like Mackeeper or any other type of "crapware" like so called hard drive or memory "cleaning" apps?

how do i find out how full it is? i emptied my trash. my imac has 1GB memory. My dau said she upgraded to snow leopard how do i find out if it worked?

Click once on the Macintosh HD icon of a hard drive, the use the key combination Command-I

That will tell you hard drive space used out of the total hard drive space available.

If you want find out more about your iMac, click the Apple logo in the far left of OS X's main menu bar.

Click About this Mac. A small pop-up window appears with some info about your iMac.

Click the More info button, and a larger window pops open.

Copy/ paste all of this info into a reply to this post editing out your iMac's serial number.

This will tell everything we need to know abou the iMac.
