Can't connect to another Mac using Bonjour (Snow Leopard)

I was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction to get this inconvenience fixed, since googling didn't yiled much results.

The Problem:

I have a Mac Pro (3,1) and am trying to connect to a MacBook Pro (5,4) through the Bonjour service. Both run on Snow Leopard (10.6.8).

I open Finder and click on the MBP icon, it opens and says "Connecting..." for about a minute after stating that "Connection Failed".

This naturally means I can't "Share Screen", which is a very important tool for me.

Here's the thing though, *Sometimes* after trying to connect a couple times, it actually goes through, but is extremely slow (File Sharing), but I can never get Screen Sharing to work.

This happened after we moved and are on a new network, so I'm guessing it has something to do with the IP address or something, since my Mac Pro is wired and the MBP is wireless.

The above image seems to describe a possible solution, which I found on MacWorld.com from a 2010 thread. I'm hoping someone can simplify the wording of the steps for me so I could possibly get this resolved.

List of things I already tried:

• Disabling all sharing in System Preferences, restarting the computers, enabling File Sharing / Screen Sharing and allowing "Everyone"

• Changing computer names, restarting

• Disabling the Firewall / Enabling the Firewall (Restarting and trying to connect)
