Removing CleanMyMac safely

Having read previous postings regarding the removal of software mentioned above:

I've found the .dmg file but should I just drag it to Trash? (The file does not contain an uninstaller). Or, should I download the program again in the hope that the new download contains an uninstaller option, or will this just compound my uninstall problems?

On the same note: I want to uninstall ClamX but that program doesn't offer an uninstall option either.

Is there a free program to safely get rid of the 2 programs or will I end up with another program which becomes resident on my hard drive?

To those iMac techies who read this: As you can guess I am computer illiterate when it comes to delving into the workings of programs and their effects. If you post a reply to my questions please spell out word-for-word what I should do.

Thank you.

iMac, Mac OS X (10.0.x), Lion OS

How to remove CleanMyMac

ClamXav can be removed by dragging it to the trashcan.

Or not, here's the devopers instructions for removing ClamXav

22. How do I uninstall ClamXav completely?

First thing to do is quit ClamXav Sentry (if you use it) and make sure it's not set to launch at log in. You will then need to find the ClamXav disk image which you downloaded when you installed ClamXav (or download the current one again) as you will find an uninstaller application on that disk.

The uninstaller will remove the engine and any schedules you've got set up. All that's left is to drag ClamXav.app to the trash.
