i don't know if this has been discussed already, but when I am typing my cap lock button doesn't seem to respond like the other buttons. I have looked on other forums and someone said it was a design bit because people hit the button by accident. I don't do this though and it is being a little annoying this is my first mac and I have only had it a day.

What do you mean by "funny"?
A couple of years ago Apple modified the behaviour of the Caps Lock key so that it now requires a deliberate push to activate it. In other words it does not respond as quickly as other keys. This annoyed serious touch-typists but the excitement died down in time.
Caps Lock needs perhaps a quarter of a second to activate. I don't notice it but I only type about 60 wpm.
If yours is not behaving as expected bring your Mac to a Genius Bar for evaluation.
I have only had it a day.
I personally, would not troubleshoot a spanking brand new Mac.
You are still under warranty.
#1 - You have 14 days from the date of purchase to return your computer with no questions asked.
Take FULL advantage of your warranty. Posting on a message board should be done as a last resort and if you are out of warranty or Apple Care has expired.

The change may have been about that time. If it is inconsistent (more than the quarter second or so) then something may be wrong.

Don't tolerate anything you think isn't 100% right with your MBP. It should work perfectly.
Exactly what you said, sometimes I hit it and its fine other times it doesn't because I brush it with my little finger. It does feel a little more wobbly than the others but nothing major. i had a feeling that was the reason but the forum was from back in 2008 so I didn't know it they had changed it since then.
I have a workshop booked in for the 16th on how to use my new pro so if it doesn't seem to have got any better I will mention it to them.
