Vocalign Function Within Logic Pro

I have Pro Tools LE with a Digi002. However, I'm increasingly using Logic for all its synths and MIDI sequencing. The one feature I miss most from PT is an Audiosuite plug in from Synchro Arts called "Vocalign". For me, it is to timing what Autotune is to pitch! It is an excellent tool for automatically matching the timing of one piece of audio to that of another. Coming from film/TV post production, it was designed to assist in lip-syncing the replacement dub by referencing its timing to the original location recording. I use it to tighten up backing vocals against the lead vox, bass against the kick etc...

So my question is... how can I do this in Logic? Any Logic/PT/Vocalign users out there....??

Thanks in advance

Best wishes

Hi Max,

I agree with you here... Vocalign is such an amazing plugin..although to use it within Logic itself I believe is not possible at the moment... I think as a standalone application you can import the vocals in, then tighten them up, then send them back again.
But for me...thats not the same as it is in pro tools... I am thinking of buying protools to record into just to use that plugin!!

Hi Guys

Thanks to you - and everyone else who has looked at this. I've had this same question running on a few boards and got nowhere. Which leads me to conclude the same as you - it can't be done in Logic at the moment. (That's one to add to the wish list!)

Vocalign comes in 2 flavours - standalone and Audio Suite plug in. I guess I could just load audio regions into the standalone version. This isn't ideal because I tend to work on small chunks across multiple vocal takes. Digital Performer has a neat link into the standalone version but the most elegant version is ProTools Audiosuite implementation - point and click! Vocalign even replaces the original region with the time corrected one on each appropriate track.

It's worth staying in ProTools land a little longer just for this plug in!
