My notes stopped syncing between my macbook and iCloud?

My notes have stopped syncing for some reason

They are up to date in mail - but are not syncing with icloud

Any suggestions

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.5)

They are in me Icloud email - but not in notes , which I want / need to sync with my iphone
