AirPort Express Firmware 6.3 was released in 2006 and is unrelated to the recent AirPort Utility 6.3 update.

If you have a question, please post a brand new one. Whatever problems you and williamfromames are experiencing have nothing to do with this topic. Thanks!

I beg to differ. The title on the original post was "Updated to Utility v 6.3". I do agree that the version numbers in common cause confusion and that what was intended may be different from content.

Differ as you please, but the OP clearly described an issue that predated AirPort Utility 6.3 by four months, notwithstanding the fact that it begins with "Updated to Utility v 6.3." The question's context makes it clear this was an obvious and unfortunate misstatement.

If you have a question, please post a brand new one.

The original post, as far as I can see, states "first problem, which is the Utility will not allow access to the express.".

And I found this thread with the same question as the earlier posters. AP Utility invited me to download a new version, I did, and I have the same problem "this version of APUtility doesn't..." . Thank goodness a fix was posted early on, though I don't have time for the gyrations right now.

And I must join the "complainers" and say this this more like Windows land than MacLand. At least the invitation to "update" to the utility 6.3 should note that it does not work with older base stations. My base station works just fine and as a bit of a minimalist I hate to put it in the trash/recycle process for that reason.
