How to get wireless connection onto HP DESKJET 3070A to iPad?

I have just purchased the above printer and am endeavoring to connect it to my iPad. However, can't get connection to my router at all. Printer keeps telling me no wireless connection. I went back to the purchase shop to be told to download an app via itunes. How do I do that ,the only app I can find called HP app I downloaded but it doesn't enable me to get on wireless. I have a router called fritz box, about 5 years old. Could it be that? Please help, I'm about to pick a window for the printer and have been forced to resort to wine.

I also strongly suggest you read the poster that comes with the printer. It shows you step by step on how to setup the printer.

See this article on ad hoc networking. Assume your ipad is the pc.

When setting this up for the first time, I recommend powering off your router & all other wireless devices. Power on your printer & ipad. Once you get print working, power on the other devices. See if all are working.

PS. You said your router is kind of old. It may be that it doesn't support your iPad. Using adhoc networking advoids using your router.

PSS. Do not feel bad. From my reading of the internet blogs on this printer & my reading of the PDF documentation, the configuration of this printer is poorly docuemnt.
