Can't delete something in my trash can

Hi,

I have tried all of the solutions found on various forums but I still can't delete a file in the trash can.

Does anyone know why I can't delete it?

When I tried to empty the trash can it said that the file can't be deleted because it can't be read or written. However when I looked at the file info it said it could be read and written. The file is an .exe unix from a windows 7 partition.

Any solutions?

When I did the sudo rm commands, the Terminal asked for my password so I entered it then hit return but nothing happened in my trash can.

What is it you want me to do exactly with this "-v flag" thing? Add it to "sudo rm -rf"?

Have you tried locating the file (in Windows) and trashing it there?

Can I access the mac trash can through my windows partition and if so where do I find it on the disk?

Boot into Windows and run the chkdisk program.

No I couldn't find the mac osx trash can to delete it!

That's not what I meant, and this may just be useless anyway but locate the copy in Windows and delete it, empty the Windows trash (copy the file off the machine if you need it) does this have any effect?

Try Linc's suggestion, I should have thought of it 😟
