Please help.. I'm doing videogame commentaries, and this microphone costed me $164.99. Is there something wrong with the microphone? Do I have to buy a new one? Or what about the converter from XLR to USB? How do I fix it?

Oh, and they're both reletivaly new... I got the microphone maybe at the end of November 2012... The converter... Maybe the second week of December 2012.. No way to know for sure... I tried setting it up once before but it (like now) didn't work and I had to quit. Now I'm seeking help, andyways back to the didn't work part... I let it sitting out since then... maybe like a month? I figured I could get it to work later. For now I can use the iMac microphone, but it doesn't get direct sound.. That's the reason I want the microphone to work. I want a clearer, closer sound. Thefore I don't have to speak up as much. Anyways, I'd appreciate the help. Thanks!

If I buy it, do I have a gurantee that it'll work. I mean I don't want to spend another fifty dollars on it.. I'm sorry, I'm just kind of annoyed with this microphone mix up here..

Yes it will work. In simple terms you bought a condensor Microphone (which needs power) and an adaptor for a Dynamic microphone (which needs no power) so it won't work.

Return the adaptor and buy the correct (Blue Icicle) one, then it will work.

If you can exchange it for a Spark Digital I would and then you will not need any adaptors (and you can even connect it to an iPad)

If you are interested I use Blue Microphones professionally, mainly the Cactus and Woodpecker, I also have a lot of the BlueBottles with interchangeable capsules. they are excellent.

Never shout or blow into them, and don't let friends pretend to be Eddie Van Halen into them. Get a good popscreen to go with them, all that spit is not a good thing.

Have fun.
