Overcharging iPhone 5 battery?

Hey

I'm wondering that does overcharging the iphone 5 battery or leave it charging all night effects on the battery ??

Because I really use the iphone and I usually charge it at night

The battery is really good at this time (usually 8-10 hours usage)

But as I said I was just wondering because I have BatteryDoctor and it said that I must not leave it charging after it's full.

Thank you 😀

iPhone 5, iOS 6.1

You COULD look at the post 5 above yours. If that isn't good enough you will have to research lithium battery technology on your own. Then you will know as much as those of us who DO understand it know. I don't feel obligated to do your research for you.

But you know I'd trust you're research. 🙂 If that isn't clear, I do apologize.

Enuf of these unsubstantiated claims! Document what you claim to be facts, that is cite sources, so that one can follow up on it, in case s/he wants to learn more. Scholarship isn't pedantry, it's useful. As this thread stands no one really knows anything other than the self-appointed and undocumented "experts." I still don't know whether one can lead an iPhone plugged to a charger indefinitely without damaging the battery, or even the phone.

(a) I did supply a citation to the SBS info forum which has links to the complete documented industry standards for SBS SMART-technology battery's and their charging and control circuits. I cannot make you actually read it and educate yourself about a technology that is old news nowadays.

(b) You just refuse to get it. You can leave ANY SMART Lithium battery powered device plugged in as long as you wish - ANY and EVERY device powered by modern SMART Lithium technology has built in over charge protection and has since the standards were introduced in the late 1990's. It doesn't matter whether it's an iPhone, some other smart phone, a laptop, an electric razor, a tablet, or anything else. If it's powered by a SMART lithium battery conforming to the SBS's standards, it cannot be overcharged.
