Syncing Outlook Notes

I'm going to try where others have failed. Can anyone explain how to sync an iPhone or iPad with Outlook Notes? A number of people have posed this problem here and most got no response. A few got a suggestion that did not work for me (or apparently them as well).

I am able to sync Calender and Contacts with no problem, but no longer Notes. At one time (before iOS 6 or iTunes something?) I was able to sync my phone and Outlook. I have tried any number of setting combinations but all to no avail. FWIW, my notes between my iPhone and IPad Mini with no problem.

If someone could solve this problem, they would earn the eternal gratitude of a number of frustrated people.

I have struggled with this problem too! I finally fixed it today. I turned off notes on my iPhone in the iCloud settings. Then I plugged my iPhone into my PC and went to the Info tab on my iTunes iPhone sync. Finally, it offerred a check box to "sync notes with Outlook". Prior to that, it only informed me that my notes were being synced over the air. Now I guess that my notes will not be synced with iCloud (over the air), but my Outlook notes and my iPhone are finally synced with regards to notes. I hope this helps...

wpernstrom has the correct answer. I was having the same problem as G3gator, didn't have an option in iTunes to sync notes with outlook. Here's what I did:

Closed iTunes

On my iPhone went to Settings > iCloud

Turned Notes to Off (this stops notes from being synced with iCloud)

Re-opened iTunes

Connected my iPhone

Under my iPhone I chose the 'Info' Tab

Now I have the option to sync Notes with Outlook

This is a late response, but I had this same problem and just figured out how to fix it (at least, on my device).

Open iTunes, connect device

Select device (iPod Touch 4, for me)

Select the "Info" tab along the top of the device column (far right)

Scroll about 2/3 of the way down and you should (hopefully) see an "Other" option that allows you to select sync notes with Outlook.

I have my Outlook synced with my hotmail, so I couldn't figure out why everything else was syncing except the notes - it's because everything was syncing directly from my hotmail (not Outlook), but Outlook notes don't go to hotmail, so they weren't syncing. Hope that helps.User uploaded file

There are several known ways most of which are not compatible with each other to transfer notes from iPhone to Outlook and the other way round (sync).

Solution A. Via iTunes. For this to work, you must ensure that you are not syncing iPhone notes with iCloud. To disable iCloud notes sync, on the iPhone go to Settings > iCloud and toggle the Notes switch to OFF. Then open iTunes, connect the iPhone and from the Info tab of your iPhone settings select "Sync Notes to Outlook". Then click the "Sync" button. This solution has worked for me in the past.User uploaded file

Solution B. Transfer the notes in the method described here: How to copy iPhone notes to Outlook (and the other way round) This is the only way to transfer notes to Outlook 2003 as neither iTunes nor the iCloud control panel are compatible with this version of Outlook (correct me if I'm wrong).

Solution C. Use the iCloud Control Center on your computer. For this to work, you must install the iCloud Control Panel and have iPhone notes syncing to iCloud. You can then configure the iCloud Control Panel to sync iPhone notes with Outlook on your PC.

I don't know a whole lot about how everything works, but we have our email set up through an Exchange server. Setting up my Outlook email using the Exchange option in my Mail settings allowed me the option to turn on syncing notes. The notes from my desktop Outlook now show up in my Notes app on my iPhone 6. I don't know if you can try that or if your email client has to be set up in a specific way. I just logged in to the Exchange server using my normal Outlook credentials, and there was nothing else to it. Might be worth exploring.

Sberman and Cheonweb,

Are you able to sync notes between Outlook and an iPhone? If so, what settings do you have in each place?

George

Yes i'm.

Just turned ON Notes in iCloud settings in my iPhone,

checked "Mail, Contacts, Calendars and tasks with Outlook" in the iCloud Control Panel for Windows.

I don't remember if i was doing this manual but i have my Apple ID as a mail account in the Outlook.

Was reading through this thread and found it helpful with the screen shot to get my iPad mini to sync with Outlook 2013 on Windows 8. Theres a little "tabbed" section to flip between emails, calendars, tasks and notes etc.

Once you have opted to have your iPhone or iPad sync with outlook in iTunes and it goes through the 5 steps in iTunes. You should be able to see all your notes in Outlook under that tab. Finally got notes to transfer onto my pc in some way thats not email this is great!
