I was able to get to the correct place when I tried again on that link last evening inside the user tips. I may TRY to follow the other tests that were in the article you linked above. I am to the point where I am afraid of doing that and making a bigger mess of my mac from not knowing what I'm doing. The closest Apple Store is about 100 miles from me and I live in a podunk rural area, there are a few computer repair places in the closest small town to me but I dont trust them with a Mac. I just think since I have a suspected issue but not something that will replicate at the Apple Store, they will not search thru it, I mean it appears to be working fine today and that's what they will see. I dont know if they would check the DNS issue and I dont think they could check the wireless router issues.
IDK, I just have no experience with issues. I used a windows pc in a corporate environment for 25 years and when there was a problem, we had someone on the floor that fixed it. I retired 5 years ago, got a Toshiba laptop with windows vista (LOL) and had no issues with it until it overheated and died a few months ago. No close friends or family that knows anything about a computer. I do appreciate all your advice tho.
One thought I have after reading your words above about me trying to login somewhere and cant is that I would like to log in to the sites that I pay my bills to. Other than a couple of message boards, I dont log in to anything else besides the (https secure) sites that I pay bills on. But is this something I need to NOT do now? My first fear when this all started was worry about my MBP itself now I am concerned about a threat to my financial stability/banking info. But as you can tell, I can be paranoid.
