Mail receive problem.
Last week, I opened Mail as I had done a thousand times before. Only to find I had no new incoming mail. I tested Mail by sending an email to myself and to another computer on my home network. I received no test mail but the other computer did. I accessed the iinet webmail server to find I had several new messages, then I phoned for support from iinet to ask them to test their server connection to my email address.
I can send emails but cannot receive them on the computer. I trashed my email account in mail and created fresh account to see if this would fix the issue. The result was all my mailboxes were emptied and still no new mail was received. I tested and found I could still send email.
Iinet have a phone service which requests I push a phone key 1,2,or 3 for the service I need. Whenever I pushed the phone key the recorded voice answered that no action had been registered. That has been the case for several days and remains so today. Iinet are centred in Queensland and a recorded message indicates they are effected by the floods and will be slow in answering support calls. Since I could not get through they have no support call from me.
I am assuming my problem is a server address issue. Can anyone please tell me if there is another action I can use on Leopard 10.5.8 to confirm the problem.
