Here is what I just did: I went to Reminders on my Mac and clicked on iCloud [ Reminders ] and then clicked the + sign. I added an item and set a time. The item showed up on all of my devices including my iPhone and at the designated time my Mac, iPhone and iPad all made an alert sound. When I then clicked on "Close" in the pop-up window, a red 1 appeared on each reminder app.

Now when I looked at my calendar the item did not appear until I clicked on the day that I designated for the reminder. Then it magically appeared. Since I don't use this calendar to check my reminders and instead just use the Reminder app this has not been a problem for me but Apple should address it.

Here's what happened to me: I've used Reminders before for the first time for my previous travel and all synced automatically between my Mac and iPhone. Now second time I started a new Reminders list on my Mac but it just wouldn't sync on my iPhone. I've checked everything, iCloud and Reminders sync were all turned on on both my devices. Then I noticed under Reminders setting on my Mac there is "Default list." There are "Reminders on my Mac" and "Reminders on iCloud." I tried putting default list on iCloud on all my devices and it still wouldn't sync. I went on iCloud.com and it only showed my Reminders on my iPhone. So I went to Reminders on my Mac and 2 fingers tap on an item and a pop up setting for edit, etc. and "Move to list" that showed "On my Mac" and "iCloud." "On my Mac" was faded out and inclickable so I figured the list was already on my Mac so I tried moving all to "iCloud" and now they're all synced up.

Conclusion: Reminders on Mac has 3 pages: Scheduled, Reminders Blue and Reminders Purple by default. Reminders Blue is only on Mac, and Purple is iCloud. So if you want to sync your reminders you'd need to put them all in Purple and have default list on Mac checked for iCloud. Unless you want to keep certain items separately (Mac only) then put them in Blue.

Hope it makes sense...
