It's in a different folder. Try going to the "Go" dropdown menu in the finder and select "Computer"

From there select your hard drive. Then select Library. Then select Application Support. Then select Microsoft and you should see MERP2.0 in that folder.

Your actually going into a different Library folder than the one you use to get to the folders in your screen shot.

Go to the "Go" dropdown menu in the finder and select "Computer." From there select your hard drive. Then select Library. Then select Application Support. Then select Microsoft and you should see MERP2.0 in that folder. In that folder you will find Microsoft Error Reporting. Once you have opened Microsoft Error Reporting, you can go into the preferences and turn off error reporting. That eliminates the recovered file showing up after every restart.

With subsequent Office updates I have tried it with error reporting on, but the recovered files start showing up again so I go and turn it off.

Mark -

Sorry to drag you into this again - I just started having this problem and I located the MERP2.0 file and the Microsoft Error Reporting.app within that. However, When I either double click that OR right click/open - nothing happens - it acts like it's an empty app. I'm using Yosemite latest rev.

Thanks - I appreciate the info - and obviously I"m doing something wrong as it appeared to work for the others in this string.....

I have this same issue. I am unable to even find the Microsoft error reporting file in Microsoft file. Apple just replaced my hard drive, told me the trash issue was a hard drive issue. Now I'm finding out the issue is Microsoft software. I'm fairly sure I may have had a hard drive issue. The beach ball would stick around for at least a minute or two. iMac is barely 3.5 years old - 83 days out of extended warranty. Running IOS 10.10.2. I have Microsoft Office 2011. Can not access the error reporting file at all through the hard drive or through applications. Just can't find it. Do not know how to recognize it.

Trash can, Recovered files help.
