IPhone 4 won't load music library on Sync

Hello. I've been having this problem for over a month now. My iphone 4 won't sync any of my music from my itunes library. I have tried a HUGE number of things. It does not seem to be related to itunes match issues.

I am trying to sync with my phone connected via USB. I cannot seem to get the wifi connection between my computer and device.

I am at a loss, and extremely angered that I cannot listen to my music. What should I try next? Am I missing something? What do I try next?

iPhone 4, iOS 6.1

I was having a similar problem:

I'd check Sync music and whether I selected "Entire Library" or "Selected playlists..." it would go through the motions and finish the "sync" immediately, but nothing would change.

To fix it I did the following:

1. unchecked "Sync Music" and then synced the iphone (removed all music)

2. checked "Sync Music" and synced again.

This worked for me. Bit of a pain...

I tried a lot of things but once I selected the "sync only checked songs and videos" and deselected the 'converting higher bit rates to 256K AAC" box all worked perfectly. New MacBook Pro but old iPhone 4s but all are using current software.
