iOS 6.1.1 Didn't fix the Battery drain (4S)
I just did an OTA update from 6.1 to 6.1.1, And i notice that every 2 minutes my battery drops by %1, this is really depressing, Can anyone confirm this isn't just me?
Thank you.
iPhone 4S, iOS 6.1, 6.1.1

I've done my share of kevetching, and now, thanks to a poster in another thread (sbailey4) I can stop. I tried all fixes mentioned EXCEPT a complete restore and nothing helped UNTIL I used:
Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
All I lost was my home screen background. Exchange/iCloud/Email/Calendar Accounts are working and my battery life is back to pre 6.1.1 consumption.
Hope this helps someone else...

Battery drain is horrible for me since update and about a week prior to deployment of update- I do not maintain an exchange account and have disabled alot of my iCloud functions and still roughly 2% drain per 5 minutes. Let me also state that I'm very diligent about performing full cycle charges on my phone, closing background apps, setting everything to manual fetch - and still this. My battery performance was stellar up until roughly the end of January. I've tried every option posted in these forums from full software re-installs to factory resets- nothing works. I'm almost tempted to just by a new battery to see if the problem persists.
i have two iphone 4s and both were updated to 6.1.1 but only one of the phones has the battery drain issue. the one with the problem has my company's exchange email account so i believe the news going around on the internet that the problems are related.
6.1.1 Did not fix the battery health, it is draining very fast, and sometimes the phone turning off at 10%-20% battery percentage. The volume bar during a call is chopping, and my photo streaming is not working at all.
I want the 5.1.1 back!!
Your suggestion does help considerably, not completely fixed but it does help, thanks

Ghawk, it does sound a bit extreme but the reality is it is not and can be done in a few minutes and without iTunes. It does not delete your apps and data. Perform the process and when the device reboots select "set up as new". Run through the wizard and when it finishes booting you will be back where you were with exception that your wallpaper will be default and any wireless networks will have to be added back as needed. That's all there is to it.
To complete the entire solution, once you finish this process, its recommended to let your device run until it shuts itself down (spinning star) then charge it undisturbed for at least 1.5 hrs past when it shows 100% (preferably overnight). That calibrates the battery to the software and typically yields the best results performing both processes.
I found a solution in a different post! For me the upgrade to 6.1.1 caused major battery loss. The problem is a bug with the Exchange calendar syncing. Go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Exchange, and then turn off calendars. I was loosing 25% battery per hour before I turned this off. Supposedly if you wait 30 seconds you can turn calendars back on and the problem will still be resolved, but for today I'm just going to keep it off completely just in case since I don't have my charger at work. Now I'm back to my normal battery loss of 2% to 3% per hour.
My husband & I both have 4s's. Since the update to 6.1.1, our batteries are draining quickly & running hot. This is a serious problem! He's on a business trip & is having to turn his phone off between uses because he can't charge it constantly. This is unacceptable. Is Apple working on this? How can we undue the update? We were ok with battery life before the update.
I agree the new update did not fix the problem.
I have made three phone calls and two text messages in four hours and it is at 76%. Two weeks ago, my battery would last two days with my usage. Now it is dead every evening.
This was my post.
So I had the 6.1 with no problems. Get 6.1.1 update n I dl it n install. HUGE MISTAKE.
My battery drain way faster than ever. I use battery saving techniques etc to no avail. It's horrible. On top of that, my phone crashes constantly. I restored, soft reset, hard reset, restored, repeat, repeat, blah blah.
Apple has no clue how to fix it yet won't replace it. I'm stuck with a phone that I can talk on maybe an hr straight on a good day. And no apps will stay open for longer than a minute. Am I the ONLY one having this problem,.,.
We are going to try the reset tonight on our 4s's. My husband turned off all calendars (iCloud, gmail and hotmail as 1 post suggested. We downloaded Apple's "fix" 6.1.2 and it resulted in no improvement nor did turning off the calendars. I'm surprised there have been no further posts since Wed. It is frustrating that Apple isn't fixing this issue, and that we are having to rely on other users to find solutions. Our phones are unusable without constant access to a charger. Is anyone else continuing to have problems or did the reset fix it for everyone?
Thank you for the response. What's confusing is sbaily4's response on 2/18 at 6:05 to the previous post instructing to Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. Sbally4 wrote "...it can be done without iTunes. Perform the process and when the device reboots select "set up as new". Run through the wizard and when it reboots you will be back where you were..."
When you use the "reset all settings" option and the device reboots you should see an option to set up as new.

My husband just did the reset, but could not figure out where "reset as new" is. Where is that command and wizard located?
Thank you; he apparently didn't see it when his device rebooted. Does the option automatically come up when it reboots? We're going to try my iPhone next. He is letting his battery run down & will recharge it overnight as suggested. Appreciate your help.
OK, the confusion here is that "Reset all settings" JUST resets settings; it does not erase the phone or provide an option to restore a backup (because nothing has been erased). To set up the phone as new you need to choose Erase all content and settings from the Settings/General/Reset menu.
