No. It requires a USB plug in receiver, which would never work on an iPad. A bluetooth keyboard would work with the iPad. No mouse would ever work with the iPad, since it uses touch gestures.

Apple never claims that the iPad is a computer. And it isn't. It's an appliance or something that works with your computer. It's like a smart phone.

It's difficult to work on Excel with a tablet, so I don't. When I need to work on huge spreadsheets, I use a real computer. I need the processing power and access to a mouse and keyboard.

As for FPS games, there are a lot of them on the iPad, and they seem to be quite popular. I've seen kids play them, and they're very good with them. Part of how the iPad works is that it has a gravitometer, so as you tilt, the action tilts. It's more natural. In fact, I've read a lot of stock analyst reports that say that Xbox and PS3 are dying gaming systems, as the iPad is a more intuitive method of playing games. I have no idea, as I am not a gamer. But you cannot use a mouse.

@jainvikas8 iPad FPS games abosulutely do not require a keyboard and mouse control. There are many good FPS games on iPad designed to work with iPad controls - i.e. gestures because they were built for iPad, not computers. OrangeMarlin is correct, I think it is much more intuitive on iPad.

I wasn't suggesting this is about being right but I suppose I wasn't clear. I have three main points here:

1) You cannot connect a mouse. Having a touch-based interface the iPad is simply not designed for it.

2) Given that, games are not developed for use with a mouse anyway.

3) Try the different games. The developers may have slightly different ways of implementing the interaction and you may find one or more easier and more comfortable than the others.

You can try using some of the hardware add-ons that more or less act as a joystick and see if that works. Maybe it will be more comfortable for your brother. I suspect though, as a gamer he is just used to the keyboard and mouse and with a bit of time it will be more comfortable.
