Friends can't invite me to any game center game

Friends can't invite me to any game center game

Whenever my friends want to invite me to a multi player game through Game Center, they can't click my name. My account does show up in their list, but it's greyed out and saying "Not accepting game invitations" or something like that (I'm using the Dutch version). The other way around, me inviting my friends to a game, works perfectly.

I've been checking out every single setting potentially related to this problem in the hope to find some kind of magic switch to turn this on, but in vain.

Perhaps it's got something to do with me still running iOS 5.1.1 and my friend iOS 6.1?

Anyone an idea?

Interesting delema, But I agree with your answer to yourself and thats the fact you are running different iOS's. Is there no update availible to you?

If you are able to invite and not them its a backwards compatible issue! I'm thinking it is to make you move up to newest iOS's -Interesting

iOS 6.1 is available for my iPhone, but I haven't upgraded yet for personal reasons.

However, now with Google Maps and YouTube back available, there is basically nothing holding me back anymore so I'm going to try that out. Probably this weekend.

I've updated my iPhone to iOS 6.1 and nothing's changed, my friends still can't invite me. So the problem is not related to the iOS version.

Humph, editing my previous post didn't seem to work but I just wanted to say that I solved the 'problem'.

There is a switch/button to toggle game invites on and off and it was turned off in my case. I always suspected something like that being the case but I just didn't know where to look. You can access that button by tapping the banner displaying your account on the 'me'-tab in Game Centre.

go to settings, general, restrictions. scroll down to gamecenter, what are your settings. also try enabling notifications for game center in settings, notifications.

I have tried all of these things. Going under restrictions and making sure multiplayer games are allowed, turning on ALL of the Game Center notifications and making sure invites we're allowed within the Game Center and it still hasn't allowedy friends to invite me. What gives?
