Upgraded to iOS 6.1.1 last night, now my phone gets hot and battery life drains really quickly. Never had the problem prior to the update.

Hi, I update my iPhone 4S to iOS 6.1.1 and since that, so many things happens:

+ My Battery always lasted from 7:00AM to 10:00PM, now I am running out of battery at 4:30PM !

+ The iPhone is running Hot

+ I have no Internet connectivity, I am able to send and receive messages from WhatsApp, but I can't send or receive attachment by this app and for no other app.

+ I cannot get my e-mails, no browsing,... But I can receive incoming e-mail notifications alerts from Gmail App.

Could you please help me, whta could I do in orther to fix the problem, It seems that I don't have a smartphone, I can only send and receives calls, do some sms, and play offline!!!

Can you read the thread to which you replied? Basic troubleshooting steps have already been provided. Follow them.

I have tried, restar and reset so many times and it didnot work, I will do a restore to see what happens.

But I agree to some guys that it is a clear 100% iOS Problem, or the installation procedure (Apple), there are a lot people from different countries, different Carriers having the same issue, so please don’t tell me that iOS 6.1.1 is Okay. Something is wrong and it is not the people who use the device.

Apple has already stated they will be releasing an iOS update to address the Exchange Server issues in the near future. If that is your problem, your choices at this point are, remove or disable the exchange account or live with the issue until the update is released.

And you are telling the people that you answered whitout reading what the reall problem is, Who say MS Exchange?

FEB 19 at NOON. Just blindly tried to update to 6.1.1 and it WONT DO IT NOW! So hopefully they have 'shut it off' until 6.1.2 fixes whatever problem you all seem to be having.

Will definitely check this thread or a newer one before I even try new update.

Leaves me completely in the cold.. *** are you talking about? I have no idea what an Exchange Server is or where they stated a new release will be out. I do not spend time reading Apple News.

Please ust explain it in lingo for those of us who 'just use the phone' and update when told to. ... No need to be mean, we are all here asking for help from those more knowlegable (as you seem to be) not slams.

I have successfully updated to 6.1.2 and the problem is fixed. If anyone else had the same situation as I did, this may fix the problem for you as well.

And if I may editorialize a bit...I am not a "corporations are evil" kind of person. A corporation is nothing more than a legal construct under which PEOPLE work. If the people do bad work, the corporation will suffer. If the people do good work, customers will buy products, reputations will be enhanced, and profits will result.

Apple Corporation makes a lot of good products (and they have stunk it up at times too). I really like my iPhone (and just bought an iPad Mini) but sometimes a mistake is made. The 6.1.1 upgrade was an unfortunate problem that was quickly fixed by the Corporation.

No one benefits by denying that a problem exists. When Apple Lovers get nasty and dismissive of people who are having a problem, does that help? When people decide that Apple ***** just because their phone was draining battery life way too quick, does that help? In both cases, no. I trust corporations to get things right because it is in their best interest to do so. If they don't, their customers go away.

When you think the world is crashing down around you because your phone is not working properly, you need to spend more time without your phone.

But my phone still wants to try putting 6.1.1 on.. and I am loath to do it. I think I'll wait.

How do I get it to do 6.1.2 instead? anyone know.?

Restart the device and try checking for the update again or update via iTunes on the comptuer.

This is crazy but I fixed mine. Here is how it happened

This started several months ago and even fried a battery, I guess from the heat and constant drain.

I have restored from backup, restored by iOS update, even downloaded a iOS from a mirror site.. No change.

Today I downloaded a system status app from the App Store and noticed with everything that was possible to turn off was off, it still had 30-40% CPU usage.

So, I noted all processes that were running then backed the phone up on another computer on iTunes,signed in on my wife's account.Then,although I knew it wouldn't work but I tried to restore it from a saved 6.0 file from my JB days.: note : The phone this was happening to had never been modified in anyway nor any attempts to.

After iTunes extracted the iOS and attempted to verify the restore and which of course failed.i removed phone from charger/sync cable, pulled up the system processes and compared it to the earlier processes and lo and behold.

A process named filecoordination was there when before it was not.The phone had cooled considerably,comparable to my other and the CPU usage has dropped to 4.6-7%. The phone has only dropped 1% in 2 hours.before it would be down to 65-75%.
