Where does the iphone save videos that you receive in a message.

I can see that “save video” that you are talking about. I have an old 6+ with the latest update. Check your camera icon. Your iPhone automatically saves videos sent to you via message in that camera icon. Once you are there choose or swipe to videos they should be there.

OK - just for giggles - check your Video app. I can't imagine that they would be there, but doesn't hurt to check....

The my last suggestion would be to do a reset (nothing will be lost) and then try to save one again to see if it shows up in your camera roll. To reset: hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold until the Silver Apple appears. Once the Home screen comes back up, try another video save, and see if it shows up in your Camera Roll.

As far as losing stuff - are you backing up to a computer? That would certainly protect all of your photos as they would be backed up to a separate holding place.

Also, do you have iCloud? If you set up your iCloud account (up to 5 GB free storage), it will save all of your Camera Roll photos and Messages (among other things). Here are two links to provide you with some info that will get you going if you want to use the free iCloud service:

not even in the camera roll?

OK, sorry - I have 6.1 on my iPhone...but still have 5.1.1 on my iPad....so, I sent myself a video, and I do see the "Save Video" (which is the Share icon - but just has the Save option).

Anyway, I saved the video, and it showed up in my general photo group....of course, iPad and iPhone are not the same, but can you take a look in your iPhone Photo Library to see if it shows up at the very bottom?

The saved video should be either there or in your Camera Roll....

Any reason why you have not updated your iPhone? Just curious....

How are you saving them? If you click on the "Share" icon in the top right-hand corner, it gives you the option to Save to Camera Roll....
