Can I install bootcamp on my oldish Mac Pro?

I have an old Mac Pro running OS X 10.6.8 and I want to install Windows. The machine was built 1-4-18 Oct 1996 in Ireland.

from the other thread dalstott of NC said

you are a decade off in age

there are hurdles with 64-bit versions but if you do nit you only access 1.9GB RAM

why? and would a VM work? a chesp PC or any Mac Pro from Early 2008 or later does not have a hurdle.

and Windiws 7 64-bit Pro to use bith processors

it is old but it works really well.

The manual suggests it will work.

Windows 7 Pro does not install off the DVD without extra steps.

The forum and support for Boot Camp are where and worth reading

Our (mine also) will not boot off Windows Vista or lalter 64-bit without altering the EFI boot routine that requuires EFI64 (Mac Pro 2008+)

It will work, after it is installed and yuou get around the problems and the boot prompt
