I can't use built-in dictionary in a PDF (touching trackpad with three fingers). Either with apple preview or adobe reader. Can anyone help me?
I read another thread on this topic but I didn't find a clear solution.

I would try updating your Adobe reader. Not saying it will fix it on your Language/Keyboard but it gives me the option anyway. I never use Adobe Reader myself unless I need to extract images.

Thanks, I was sure to have tried in preview mode. Instead I was confused with finder preview (space bar).
In preview it works. So this feature is not supported in adobe reader.

This is what appear in the contextual menu.
It's italian language, but there is no "look up" word. Only Copy and Highlight commands.
Try it in Preview.
What happens if you highlite the word with your mouse and right (control) - click.
