Does Verizon use a sim card
I have given my old iPhone 3GS to a friend to use with Verizon. I have request AT&T unlock the phone. There should not be an issue with using it with Verizon. Right?

It will not work with Verizon -- AT&T and Verizon use different communication schemes (GSM vs. CDMA) and the hardware is not interchangeable between them.
Really? If the activated it with AT&T instead it would work fine right?
Thanks for your help. I didn't realize there would be an issue. The person I spoke to at AT&T told me there would be no problem
Yes, really. AT&T and Verizon use completely different communication standards. The AT&T person you spoke with is misinformed -- there is no way to make an AT&T phone work with Verizon, and locking/unlocking has nothing to do with that limitation.
