Please can someone help iPhone and iPad both with same icloud acc. When on iTunes or apps. When I put in password unknown error comes up. What can I do

Telling us what the error says would be a good start.
After putting in password it comes up "unknown error" and you can not progress any further
When trying to log into iTunes or purchase an app in apps. Put in password and unknown error comes up. What can I do? This happens on both my iPhone and iPad, both are linked with same icloud account
