A UPS for my new iMac 21.5"

I've ordered a new iMac 21.5" with Fusion Drive HD.

Can someone advise me what is the proper UPS to buy for my new iMac please ?

It's important to have some kind of software ?

Thanks

Ronen

There are hundreds available so no specific one is right. No software is necessary, just get one that has a USB connection so you can set the Energy Saver preferences for the UPS.

The ES750 does not have AVR. If you get occasional brownouts (under voltage), quick power fluctuations etc - you would want a UPS with AVR (automatic voltage regulation). Brownouts are not especially good for equipment, some equipment more than others. I have had the 750 for a long time now. I will be replacing it soon with something with AVR.

Also - I have located one UPS manufacturer that does offer power management software for the Mac - Cyberpower. They have some well reviewed units. A few look conspicuously like some put out by Tripp Lite. Tripp Lite offers some nice units but no mac application.

I understand that the software is not needed. You can manage some items within OSX Energy Saver. But not all. Event logging, load, voltage regulation events etc are items found within the application and not within Energy Saver.
