can anybody recommend a reliable utility to mount Linus ext4 formatted drives ?
I have an ext4 drive that I used as a back-up drive for a NAS and I would need to recover data to my Lion server.

By default, OS X doesn't read ext drives, internal or external.
There are only few applications that allows OS X to read and write into ext drives, but one of the best applications to do it (and the one I recommend you) is Paragon extFS, with read and write compatibility
