Using MS Word for Mac - Can't see cursor

Is there a reason you're telling us this? Why not share it with Microsoft, who, after all, make the app? I'm sure they'll be fascinated to know what you would or would not do.

I was agreeing with the other poster. Basically it's dumb that they released a word processor that doesn't have a cursor. unless you monkey with it, and then it disappears again after a minute. I came looking for a solution, just to find that there is none. If you're complaining about my response, it was at least addressing the original complaint, whereas yours is completely off topic.

But it does have a cursor (insertion point)

Only sometimes - I came here because the cursor keeps disappearing. You have to turn the ruler on and off to get it back. Just like the other posters are saying, so it's not just me.

I don't understand that sentence. Sorry. I think Word has a bug, and MS knows, and claims it's fixed, but it's not. It's annoying. Not sure why you're defending them from me. But, I guess everyone needs a purpose.

It's because I use Word, and have used since it was only available for DOS. And I do not have any problems like a disappearing cursor

I got my cursor back by selecting "Ruler" from the "View" menu. View > Ruler

I couldn't find that option in my menu, but thanks to your answer I tried selecting "Ruler" from the "View" menu: View > Ruler, and got my cursor back. Thanks!
