My I pods home button doesn't work

I bought a new iPod in July2012 and the home button has never worked I have to hit it like 4-5 times to return to the home screen about 1 month ago my iPod fell and the screen was shattered the home button hasn't change. Will apple replace my iPod for tech problems or am I out of luck?

- If you have iOS 5 and later you can turn on Assistive Touch it add the Home and other buttons to the iPods screen. Settings>General>Accessibility>Assistive Touch

- If not under warranty Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for:

Apple - Support - iPod - Repair pricing

Unless your iPod has been abused it should be covered by the warranty.

You can do it an an Apple store by:

Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar

or sent it in to Apple. See:

- There are third-party places like the following that will repair the Home button. Google for more.
