when do student discounts [no longer] apply?

this may be a silly question, but at what point does apple not consider me a student anymore? because i'm about to graduate on may 20th, and i'd like to buy a powerbook before then. but if i don't make the purchase until may 21st, for example, even though i still have my student ID card and e-mail address, will i no longer get the discount because i've already graduated?

thanks ~

Hi, I just talked to apple yesterday and they said the academic year ends on June 31st. Also when buying with student discount call and see if they have any specials for your school. I just bought my macbook pro yesterday and on top of the discounted ipod deal and $100 off a printer, they gave me a packaged deal with a computer case, ipod case, iworks, car charger for ipod, and apple care for both the ipod and computer for less than the apple care would have been for the computer by it self. I was shock, but on my email confirmation it comfirmed the deal...

Just order it online, the apple online store doesn't
even question it. Also, the email requirement is
stupid. My school, which is a public University,
does not give students email accounts.

I bought something while I was attending the community college in town and they do not provide emails so I was not required ro provide an email, just an ID. I imagine the stores know if you should have an email or not and ask for it if you should.

It turns out, from talking to an apple employee, that you are considered a student (even after you've graduated) until the date that apple itself marks as the end of a specific school year. i can't remember what that date is anymore, since i've purchased the computer already, but it was well past my own graduation date. maybe late june or early july? so if anyone finds themself in a similar predicament, you have a month or so after graduation until apple will no longer consider you a student. however, as others have said in their posts, you can probably get away with pretending to be a student for quite some time.
