ipod touch will not charge

My ipod touch will not charge. A white apple comes to the middle of the screen after charging screen is seen for a few seconds. Finally it powers off without charging.

Try a reset:

Hold the Sleep and Home button down for about 10 second until you see the Apple logo.

- See:

iPod touch: Hardware troubleshooting

- Try another cable

- Try another charging source

- Inspect the dock connector for bend or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.

- Make an appointment at the Genus Bar of an Apple store.
