Hi everyone,

I just updated to iWeb 1.1 via software update, and now I can't publish anything to my .Mac page. I updated, and then made a new page (within my we site) in iWeb. I then pasted a long text-document from Pages in it, and hit Publish. It "created" the page, then said it would upload it. Well in the last step of uploading, I got an error saying "An error occurred while publishing file “/Web/Sites/iWeb/Site/Rotary-2006 files/DSC01793framed.png”."
That file path is pointing to a page (a photo album) that was already published, and had been on the web for a while. I haven't deleted any of the pictures associated with it, so I don't know why it's having a problem. But none of the pictures are in the .png format, so I think the _framed.png portion of that file path may be pointing to one of iWeb's template files.

I even tried removing that photo page and re-publishing, but then it picks another picture out of another page that, again, should not be affected with this uploading a new text-only page.

Any one had the same problem?

Thanks!

Aaron Boatwright

I think John is totally right. I am paying MORE than $100 (with the extra storage space) for a service that cannot function propertly with an Apple application, while 3rd-party applications (e.g., Rapidweaver) can easily upload to .mac server without any issue?

THE MAIN ISSUE HERE IS THAT WE HAVE NOT HEARD ONE WORD FROM APPLE—not a comment, a post, a newsletter User uploaded file I propose a collective request of refund. If anybody knows the email address to do that, or a way to start a petition I'll be the first on the list.

I agree. I'm something of an Apple apologist but this is ridiculous. Honestly, I've never had any of these problems before. I don't think what is being asked here is out of line. Even if Apple were to say, "the problem exists and will not be fixed for one week" I'd be much happier because then I would stop trying to fix it on my own. Any kind of acknowledgement would be very appreciated.

YE SHALL WAIT 24-48 HOURS FOR MORE DIVINE GUIDANCE.

But until then you may want to answer a few questions...

The GODS are Watching!

1. What ISP are you using?

2. Type of Internet connection (Dial-up, DSL, Cable) and provide Bandwidth stats if avaliable? Is it Wireless? www.thespeedtest.com can provide up and down bandwidth stats.

3. Have you ever received this error prior to your upgrade to iWeb 1.1?

4. Do you recieve this error every time you try to Publish?

5. What method do you use to Publish? The Publish button or Select Publish All to .Mac from Menu bar?

6. How complex is your site? Are a lot of photos? Pages? Provide a rough outline of your site? ie 3 Sites, 20 Pages per site, 10-30 pictures for each page.

7. What are your Stats? Your computer stats I mean... (Model, OS Version, Ram, Ghz) all that good stuff.

There I have passed on the 7 questions important to your iWeb 1.1 survival.

Now tell me what hurts.

LOL No they told everyone but you..

They didn't say you couldn't try to upload. The 24-48 hours what the time frame for which I would hear something back about the issue.

They didn't ask me to pass anything along. I sent an e-mail dotmacsupport@mac.com with a link to this thread and an overview of the issue. They called me and asked the questions I posted here..

I provided the questions so users could post their responses thus providing Apple Support Reps with something to work from.

We have to work together here folks.. anger and frustration only starts wars in the middle east.

I'm willing to give it a try:
1. What ISP are you using? SBC/yahoo

2. Type of Internet connection (Dial-up, DSL, Cable) DSL, wireless
and provide Bandwidth stats if avaliable? 519.40kbps

3. Have you ever received this error prior to your
upgrade to iWeb 1.1? nope

4. Do you recieve this error every time you try to
Publish? no I was able to publish once on a faster connection at work.

5. What method do you use to Publish? The Publish
button or Select Publish All to .Mac from Menu bar? I've tried all three. More consistently I've used the button

6. How complex is your site? 1 site, 29 pages, 0-3 pictures per page

7. What are your Stats? Powerbook G4, 10.4.6, 786MB, 133GHz

Hope that helps.

Yeah, this isn't much hope. The problem is obviously with the update. What the heck. I'll give it a try.

1. What ISP are you using?

RCN/.Mac

2. Type of Internet connection (Dial-up, DSL, Cable)
and provide Bandwidth stats if avaliable? Is it
Wireless? www.thespeedtest.com can provide up and
down bandwidth stats.

Cable Modem/345.1

3. Have you ever received this error prior to your
upgrade to iWeb 1.1?

No

4. Do you recieve this error every time you try to
Publish?

No. There are numerous errors I receive in nearly random patterns.

5. What method do you use to Publish? The Publish
button or Select Publish All to .Mac from Menu bar?

I've tried both methods.

6. How complex is your site? Are a lot of photos?
Pages? Provide a rough outline of your site? ie 3
Sites, 20 Pages per site, 10-30 pictures for each
page.

Couple of different sites. Each with a couple of blogs and a couple of photo pages.

7. What are your Stats? Your computer stats I mean...
(Model, OS Version, Ram, Ghz) all that good stuff.

iMac, 2 ghz Intel Core Duo, 1 GB DDR2 SDRAM, 10.4.6
