iWeb publishing nightmare

Hi everyone,

I just updated to iWeb 1.1 via software update, and now I can't publish anything to my .Mac page. I updated, and then made a new page (within my we site) in iWeb. I then pasted a long text-document from Pages in it, and hit Publish. It "created" the page, then said it would upload it. Well in the last step of uploading, I got an error saying "An error occurred while publishing file “/Web/Sites/iWeb/Site/Rotary-2006 files/DSC01793framed.png”."
That file path is pointing to a page (a photo album) that was already published, and had been on the web for a while. I haven't deleted any of the pictures associated with it, so I don't know why it's having a problem. But none of the pictures are in the .png format, so I think the _framed.png portion of that file path may be pointing to one of iWeb's template files.

I even tried removing that photo page and re-publishing, but then it picks another picture out of another page that, again, should not be affected with this uploading a new text-only page.

Any one had the same problem?

Thanks!

I've tried it all. Removing them first, then putting them back on. Deleting from iDisk, then uploading all.

Frankly, I don't think there is any sure work-around at this point. My site is up and working but none of the features (search, comment, slideshow, etc) are working. I've tried all the work-arounds people have offered with no success. In fact, I still get those random errors and iWeb still says nothing's published.

I'm leaving it like it is until a real fix comes around.

According to my nephew who works at the Apple Center in the Bay area, the .mac has been down for a couple of hours.

I disabled my comments etc and simply went back to the previous version. I use iWeb several times a day to upload presentations locally and overseas so I can afford a hiccup ... not now.

If you can wait it out, that's OK

Just logging some of my odd iWeb 1.1 problems here that I've noticed.

- Previously working photo gallery and slide show broken on non-.Mac (ftp/web) server. Works when moved to .Mac. (Is having iWeb make a photo gallery now dependent on .Mac membership and an iDisk as a server?)

- "Comment" option for blog doesn't show up when selected as on option and published.

- Stickies on Desktop have fonts broken while iWeb is running. Sometimes remain broken when Stickies is restarted.
