i've had my ipod touch 5th generation for about two months and the lightning cable dosn't seem to be working now, because its something thats i've only had for a short amount of time is the lighting cable something apple would fix/refund?:)

Apple should cover it, just go into an apple store. Are you using through a wall charger or through the computer? If through a wall charger it could be that because I don't usually hear of cables being defective within 2 months, usually they outlast the iPod itself. I have like 8 30pin cables from all the iPods I've had over the years.
thankyou and do you know if thats something i could arrange online beacuse my nearest apple store is about three hours away? and i've been plugging in the cable to a wall adapter my laptop and a car adapter and none seem to work🙂
