I recently purchased and downloaded a TV show from the iTunes Store to watch on my iPad on a transoceanic flight without WiFi. When I tried to open iTunes to view the show a message said I had to be connected to the iTunes Store to access the video. How can I watch purchased movies offline? What about Netflix?

You can't watch Apple movies offline on OS X. Amazingly, it took hours with the help desk and several escalations before I was told this. All I've found that works is Amazon and Netflix download movies on iOS, which works fine.
If you've downloaded the TV show then it should be in the Videos app - iTunes on the iPad is just the iTunes store, your downloaded and synced media go into the Videos and iPod (Music on iOS 5+) apps
Thanks for your help. I found the purchased show waiting for me on Videos. Now if I could only download Netflix!
