I reinstalled 6.1.2 from scratch again and didn't even run native iphone e-mail application nor for exchange nor for other e-mail services. Now during 6 hours I have only 10% battery discharge. that is GREAT!
As for the e-mail, I will use third party app's like Outlook Mail and Google Mail, that is available in appstore. So for me is the only a real solution and I have battery drain story over.
Being onscreen and with 3g active, my iphone 4s battery drain is about 1% per 15 min, that is much better time than with having native e-mail app configured.
It means that Apple didn't fixed exchange problem in 6.1.2. )

If you don't have wifi then you should use 3G/LTE. But my advice is if you're on wifi to turn off your 3G.
I have an iPad 2 that doesn't have 3G. I only work on wifi, and I'm having the same draining issue. So sorry, it's not the 3G :-(

Yes I am having same problem too. The iOS 6.1.2 is killing my battery. When I got my phone in October
2012 with iOS 6.0 my battery was the best on iPhone 5. My standby time was 2 days & 2 hours with usage
12-14 hours. Now with iOS 6.1.2 my iphone 5 standby time is 1 day & 3-4 hours and usage is 6-7 hours. Apple sort
Your updates out. It's about the quality not quantity.
Apple never fix anything these days
They keep rushing it to bring out patch
... Buy an iPhone they said, it will work mutch better they said....
What a hoot! There was a problem with 6.1.1 that was significant, but only affected a small number of users. Those users screamed loudly for an immediate fix, which Apple released after only a couple of weeks. Now you and others are screaming that they rushed it out.
Appreciate the irony!
This is utterly ridiculous. It should not take this many updates to fix a battery drain issue. I cannot believe how bad my battery life is. Thankfully I have the mophie juice pack which saves me from having to be tethered to a wall. Get off your *** Apple. Fix this issue. Test your updates before releasing them upon the world.
I restored my 4s to factory default, then set up as new phone. No apps. No settings. Just fresh phone. Still standby and usage values are the same and battery is draining. I don't know what is running in the background in stand by even after restoring to factory default.
Went to bed at 45% with muy Iphone 5 and 6.1.2
I turned off Cellular Data and put in airplane mode. No apps open.
Woke up my phone was dead.
