Ios 6.1.2 still has battery drain!

Bklim is right, you got to try it everyone. I have 5 hotmail e mail accounts and 1 iCloud. I deleted all of my hotmail accounts and left iCloud then reinstalled all of my 5 hotmail accounts and now my battery is lasting more longer. My standby time is 12 hours and 40 mins. Usage is 1 hour. I'm on 90% with iOS 6.1.2

Weird this happen to both of my iPhones.

1. Updated my phone OTA to 6.1.2

2. Restore via iCloud battery started draining heavily losing around 6% each hour in airplane mode.

3. Made a new iCloud Backup.

4. Restore my phone once again some reason my phone still at 100% battery life after 17 Hours standby in airplane mode.

Apple please? i bug you? fix it asap? the battery life for iphone already quite short...now still drain so fast? seriously? play 1 game drop 20%...SERIOUSLY?

A temporal solution I found is to chance from push to fetch options with hotmails accounts.

It's not only the drain battery problem, now, there's a problem with push options with and excesive consume of data traffic with extra cost from the cell plans.

I strongly recommend to chace from "Push" to "Fetch" options while Apple Team fix this problem.

(Maybe other email accounts types has this problem, I just try with hotmail and iCloud)

I am having the same issue here, got iPhone5 jan 11th 2013, did all the upgrades through to 6.1.1, started to notice battery drain, 6.1.2 released to cure the problem and now it actually lasts half the time it did before.....seriously thinking about going to Samsung....oh....my ipad3 is also having the same issues as is my wife's........SORT IT APPLE!

The problem is EXCHANGE and/or iCloud.

I had exhange setup for icloud and yahoo. Push was off. installed 6.1.2. Woke up and took phone off charger at 6:30am. Used a little through the day. Phone was at 29% by 1:25pm. So after 6 hours it drained 70%.

Sooo...I deleted iCloud and my exchange mail account. Completely. Reset network settings. Phone has been on 3g and wifi. And bam. Here are my new stats after doing that:

Battery percentage: 30%

Usage: 4 hours 56 minutes

Standby: 21 hours 44 minutes

Look at the difference.

Same situation here. I don't use Exchange and my battery is draining like crazy. Tried all the other battery saving tips and still it's going down....Please fix!

Someone please tell me how to turn of notifications to this ******** feed that apple probably doesn't even look at. I turned off all notifications and emails but yet I still get a dozen ******* emails from this!

Lawrence Finch's suggestions appear to have worked for me. I deleted my e-mail and icloud accounts and did the full home/sleep reset. After adding back the accounts, my battery drain is back in the reasonable category. Not as good as iOS 5.1--I don't think it will ever be that good again--but not draining its life away before my eyes either. My rough math says it'll get about 6.5 hours on wifi, which is way less than Apple advertises, but will at least get me through the day with some charge to spare. Two things I wish Apple would do: release a utility kinda like "Task Manager" in MS Windows so I can see the active processes and kill them if necessary, and release another utility that will allow me to tweak settings while dynamically showing what the impact on battery life will be.

Actually there is an app called System Status by Techet and System Activity Monitor by TJ Teh that will do that for you.

Took in my old iPhone 3gs to the Apple Store with a severe battery drain situation and they said it was a hardware issue and offerred to have me trade of another 3Gs for a battery replacement charge of 79 dollars. I said no and went for the new iPhone and did not questions their reasoning. I should have questioned their conclusion!

The iPhone 5 turned up with the exact same issue after I had them walk me through the process of getting the new phone up and running. By the time I got home, it was losing at least 3% every 15 minutes and no, I was not staring at the screen on full brightness.

Anyhow, Restore, hard reset, checked all many settings and finally I think (hope) I have it "fixed".

No, I cannot be sure which change did it for me as I changed so many settings one after another. However, I believe (guess) that the mail push setting is the culprit and putting both to fetch (2 different locations) has given me 100% from 8:30 this morning to 11:30. Literally no drop in the readout at the top of the display!

I was about ready to take the darn thing back. I was hoping to milk the 3GS until the next phone came out.

I have trashed the old phone backups in iTunes and then run another backup. I cannot be sure if the corrupted settings are still in the backup or not. Now that it is on Fetch, I will just have to rely on getting my email whenever I open up the Mail app.

I did the update the other day and to start of with it my Phone kept restarting and it was just showing the apple logo and it went into recovery mode i had to restore my phone i lost everything but then my phone automatically did the update and it has been fine for the last couple of days but today it did it again now its been on the apple logo for about 10 minutes what should i do
