1. Remove every e mail accaun and remove ICloud

2. Reboot iphone Sleep+home

That should help... And i noticed after that my iphone5 is heating mouch less than before!

But this is not permament fix...

I dont know what is happening whit IOS section of the company but it"s seems that thay doesn"t know they job!!

Lawrence,

tuesday I went to apple, genius there suggested I do a DFU (Device Firmware Update) on the phone, build it as a 'new' phone (i.e. out of the box) - I did that.

I then put in any email accounts (I don't use exchange) - and manually added only the apps I needed.

The DFU put in 6.1.2 along with whatever firmware it needed....

Rest of did resets, hard resets, home resets etc.... rest of day tuesday, wednesday, and thursday morning the battery drain issue persisted. going at max 7 hours with MINIMAL use.... my phone would usually go 2-3 days with 'my' normal usage....

Took to apple store yesterday afternoon (thursday) - walked through everything I did and they simply replaced my phone with another one - yet this one is running 6.1.... not 6.1.1 or 6.1.2.....

it appears to be running fine now (replacement phone) - and I am not planning to go to 6.1.2 as it obviously is the culprit (refer to my actions above)....

Lots of folks have completely blown away their software and rebuilt the phones on 6.1.2 and at least for 4s users the problem still persists....

Just letting you know at least my experiences....

With ios 6 and 6.1, my iphone5 gave me significantly less battery life than my 4 and 4s.

Now i installed 6.1.2 and it is draining extremely fast. It's awful. I cannot believe this. Even on wifi it is draining fast when im not foing snythinh but texting. No apps open, no Icloud, i no pudhes, i did the restore and cleaned out my apps.

You can add me to the list of who is having battery difficulties with iOS 6.1.2. To be honest I did not have an issue on the previous version but now that I have installed 6.1.2 my battery is draining faster than a sieve. Today I went to the gym for a couple of hours in the morning and it had dropped by 20% and all I used it for was a couple of short call that came in and some text's. I actually use an iPod nano for my music at the gym so it did not evenn have to do that.

Lets just say I am not impressed 😠

Guys i have found out whats causing battery issue. Its the network update for 3g something. And there only some phones being affected by that. Not all phones. I have here two 4s and one is working good with that update. The US version. And another phone which is philippine version. I just removed my sim from my philippine version phone and battery headaches was removed. Try removing your sim ang turn on all the things on your phone. Wifi, email, notification, etc.

To higher level guys. I think youre using the version thats not being affected by that update. If some has a problem on 3g connection last 6.1 well its compatible with our network and now 6.1.2 is running there something running in backgroud that causing battery drain. Restoration and set as new doesnt work. REMOVING sim works.
