Mr. Moderator good day. I found out that there are some devices thats been affected by that update. I have here two 4s. US version and local version (philippines) US Vrsion is working good. I did system restoration on my local version using itunes and set as net but battery headaches still persist. I tried all the steps and theres one thing resolved the issue. REMOVING SIM. i think its about the update for 3g that affects some units. Pls do check if this thing works. And do a resolution.

There are several posts in this (and other) threads about how to fix the problem.

Sir we just did all. Restoration from itunes and setting as new. No account been set up on email. No apps but still battery headaches persist. I have two unit US version and local verison (globe telecom carrier). US version works fine but the other one is not. What i did was removing sim, it works perfectly fine. No battery issue. Wifi works fine, email, and other apps without any issue. Its just that putting sim on my unit affects the battery. There are only some units being affected. My battery is working fine without sim. O hope this info wi help you.

So on my 4s after turning off almost every notification, doing a full re-install to new then re-install to backup it has seemed to have fixed the issue. My battery after charging all night has been used 3 calls less than 5 min total, texting and thus post. At 82% as of this minute. Very frustrating to look down after 4 hours of non use to get a 20% warning! Well smartphones will be dumb phones.......sometimes!

we have the same issue... turning on and off notifications and wifi doesnt work, restoration doesnt work too... try REMOVING SIM, turn on notifications, wifi, etc and check if the battery will work fine... its works for me... so i think its the upadate concerning network or something...

This version of iOS (6.1.2) supposely resolved battery drainage. Wonderful. It is now clear it creates more problem than it resolved.

How could this version had been given a seal of approval? Developers made their job, passed the result of their work to a Quality Assurance dept then this version was released in Beta to tested out by more people. Now, we are all dealing with a huge problem.

Apple ecosystem is great and I have not complained about it so far. Now, it becomes a problem. It is so closed that we cannot get inside the machine without jailbraking it. I just want to understand and help resolving this issue.

After reading all these messages over the last two days, I performed many of the recommended actions. I have not made so much hard reboot on my iPad since this upgrade. It is now frustrating.

Without a Developper account, how can I gather debugging information and share it with Apple Support staff? I just want to get this resolved ASAP.

aside from restoring iphone and setting up as new, reset after restoring what are the other options that we may try to fix this issue. there are only some thats been affected. i have here two iPhone 4s, local and US version. US version works perfectly fine. i have no battery issuse since iOS 5 and 6. the the worst thing happens since iOS 6.1.1 (update impact cellular performance) and no changes on iOS 6.1.2. battery drainage is not present only when theres NO SIM (wifi is on, push, notifications, location services, icloud, etc) or its airplane mode is enabled.

several users wrote that the problem with the battery can be repaired if the sim out, close all notifications, but what to achieve this? nothing!

After that you have a iphone that is not for normal usage!

I do not understand the part with changing the sim card!

Remove the SIM card and what you have achieved with it? nothing

This is certainly what happens with iOS 6 is a shame for the company,is not clear how it is possible to turn up such a dangerous flaw that instead of improving the IOS6 he seriously compromise it at the end!

make sure to restore via iTunes and set up as a new iPhone, and reboot the device, home + sleep! after that the iPhone 5 should be less heated when charging!

But of course it does not solve the problem permanently, Apple must urgently launch update because otherwise millions users on iphonea5 (and mine) to go to the service and eventually be replaced on the service center market with an older iOS 6.0.1

thats what i mean of REMOVING SIM... it's an iPhone... and the primary use of that is to communicate using SIM...

apple should check all the posibilities. i have tried all the troubleshooting and my conclusion came from it. i have noticed that if cellular network is disable (no sim{wifi on, push and notification} or airport mode) battery works fine. and i have 2 versions of iphone, from US and local-same configuration... US version works fine with that OS but my local version is not. i think its about the update that was made on cellular performance and reliability. Only some versions of iPhone been affected.

we have to identify the issue coz i think moderator cant understand what we experience. not all versions was affected by that update... thats the problem.
