    Why the reset all settings?? Can you please explain what this does? I've also heard reset network? Why are we suppose reset the device? Why are Apple batteries so messed up? We should just plug it in and charge it, right? What's with all these steps just to charge it? Is it because Apple won't admit that after iOS 6.0 it's been one crap update after another?


    None of those steps work! Your a fool if you fall for Come out with a real fix for the battery!! Wish I never bought the ipad mini....what a waste of money!!

    i updated to 6.1.2 and the battery is terrible but i have also noticed that my power button is really unresponsive and i have to click it several times before it will switch on/off......!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I upgraded to iOS 6.1.2 and battery life plummeted.  Went into Apple store and they seemed to be aware of this.  They turned several setting - bluetooth, Wi-Fi, etc. Which I had on prior to upgrade and battery was fine.  This didn't help at all.

    Before I could go a couple of days before recharging, now it's usually dead by morning.  I set up another appointment at Apple store and will keep you all posted.  I'm going to ask them to revert back to prior iOS if they can't fix.

    Same problem here IOS 6.1.2 and poor (VERY POOR) battery life.  Let us know what they say but I'm guessing I'm waiting for 6.1.3 or beyond now.

    It might be that you all don't know what you are doing with the product. It's just crazy that a small number of you who are having a problem. And you all are using this platform to bash Apple. So you are not hurting Apple if you never buy there product in the future.


    All you can do is work around it and stay up to date with the software. There are millions of Apple users who are not having a problem and are satisfied. So one have to think we are using the same iOS 6.1.2 as you are and not having a problem. So why is that? didn't do anything different from you everyone. Use your software update OTA. A lot of us have no problem. So why did the 6.1, 6.1.1, 6.1.2 work for a majority of us with no battery drainage problem?

    Actually DarrylR you couldn't be further from the truth.  I know how to use my iPhone and the issue at hand is because of the software update of 6.1.2  The issue at hand still involves the exchange for email.  I have also spoken with Apple support and because of the issue of my iPhone turning into a walking toaster because it got so hot after the update I was asked to go to the closest Apple Store and work through the Genius table.  They also have admitted that there is an issue and it appears that hopefully an updated software update will be released soon.  You are truly underestimating the involved issue and how many people have been affected by this update.

    I was not having any real battery problems till this new update iit goes from 100% to 20 % in 3 hours.

    called tech support and it sounded like they were in a party could hardly hear the guy  he told me to go to the verizon store i said i dont pay for apple care to go to the verizon store then he dropped the call and never called back. ... for all the money we pay for apple produces and service  i have to say the service has gone down the tube as battery has! applecare customer service now started to decline? the prices have not ... i did not mine paying the extra when the service was good but i dont know what is goin on now!

    Woahhhh @ Ymh2 That is really bad, is that in standby? that it goes down from 100% to 20%? My battery went down from 100% to 89% in 7 hours and usuage is almost 2 hours. You should delete hotmail and icloud account then reinstall it, all of your mail account make them into manual thats the best, let your battery die till it goes blank and lastly reset your network settings.

    Okay, Try all of those things i mentioned it should. So far on ios 6.1.2 i got 8 hours of usage and 1 day 15 hours standy which isnt bad for the latest software. Good luck hope it works for you like it did for me

    Nice reply to DarrylR.  Apparently he doesn't do his research and doesn't know the extent of the situation.  Maybe DarrylR can wait until he has something constructive to say before commenting...

    Upgraded last night to 6.1.2 having previously had no issue with my battery- lost 80% battery last night on standby.

    DarrylR- this is a support community created to support apple products. As such you may find people post up queries to look for resolution to problems with software and hardware. When a large company pushes out software updates, its inevitable that there will be some users who experience issues. Its really quite simple.
