my macbook wont sleep anymore

my macbook pro wont sleep anymore and certain Java aplications dont work can anybody help?

Create a new user account. Log into this new account. Test if the problem has ceased. If it has then you have a problem in your Home folder that is preventing sleep. This could a corrupted preference file, cache file, or document file. It could be caused by a bad plug-in such as a preference pane.

What do you see when you go to the Java Test Site?

You've told us "certain Java aplications dont work". Is it one, more than one, all? Since you mentioned a missing plug-in, I take it this is some sort of web applet as opposed to an regular Mac application that requires Java to run?

What "application" or "applications" are we talking about? Have you contacted the developer(s) to see if they have any ideas?
