Safari will not quit, unless I use Force Quit. Any advice?

Safari will not respond to my efforts to quit the application.

iMac (27-inch, Late 2012), iOS 6.1.2

Logged in as guest as required in part 1 of above. Opened and closed Safari with no problem. Logged back in under my name and had the same problem with Safari. Will try part 2 in the morning.
